Bishop Ceirion H Dewar first came to prominence in July 2024 when he appeared on a stage with Tommy Robinson at the first Unite the Kingdom Rally in London. Sartorially dressed in a purple clerical shirt with pectoral cross, dark trousers and beige jacket, Dewar addressed crowd with a rousing speech.
Beginning with the cry, “London, let me hear you,” Dewar proceeded to criticise the French for their perceived mockery of the Last Supper during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. He further went on to say, “This nation is under attack. We are at war. We are not at war with just the Muslim; we are not at war with just woke ideology; we are not at war with just cancel culture; but we are at war with four-hundred-and-twelve idiots that sit on those benches [referring to Labour MPs in Parliament] just down that road. They have forgotten one thing, that they govern by consent, and if they refuse to do what the people that have elected them have sent them to do, we, the people, must withdraw that consent immediately.” Dewar stated that he regarded the crowds at the Tommy Robinson event as a sign that Christian revival had arrived in the United Kingdom.
Appearing time and time again in increasingly more episcopal clothing, he has gained a following on social media and news-media platforms such as GB News and Talk TV. In February 2026 he made a name for himself by writing an open letter to the King criticising his supposed favouring of Islam and not standing up for the Christian heritage of the United Kingdom.
But who is Ceirion Dewar really?

And, most significantly, is he actually a real bishop?
Ceirion Hayden Dewar was born on 20th November 1976 in Haverfordwest, Wales, although he also claims Scottish ancestry as his surname indicates. Initially brought up nominally in the Anglican Church in Wales in a high-church setting, Dewar has stated in interviews that he and his mother embraced Evangelical Charismatic Christianity when he was aged 14 in around 1992. He claims that he preached his first sermon at the age of 15, and that he was ‘ordained’ on his 19th birthday in 1995 (although into what particular denomination remains unclear).
He claims that he was appointed as a ‘bishop’ when he was aged 28. He served in mainly Pentecostal circles, in particular the International Communion of Evangelical Churches (ICEC). Dewar has stated that he served as the General Secretary of the ICEC, overseeing a network of some 7000 churches in nine different countries.
Dewar has connections with Pentecostal Churches in the ‘word of faith’ movement and the so called ‘prosperity gospel’ in Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, as well as with American televangelist figures such as Benny Hinn and Bishop Harry R Jackson. Dewar set up his own organisation – “The Heart of Elisha” – which was registered with Companies House in the UK in January 2018. This was renamed “Ceirion H Dewar Ministries Ltd” in June 2019. Interestingly, according to the filing records kept by Companies House (and available publicly) Dewar changed his title in December 2025 from “Reverend” to “The Right Reverend.”
